Yoda the Jedi Master
- The Empire Strikes Back
- 5 1/2 Inch Yoda Quizmaster
- Yoda answers all your questions!
- Ask Yoda a question and turn him upside down to get one of his 20 different answers!
Force fact:
Now this toy is more in scale with the Large Size Action Figures. Yoda is actually more of a statue here but he looks cool with the other figures.
Essentially the Magic 8 Ball gone Jedi this is another interesting Kenner creation. For Christmas in 1981 this was only in the JCPenney catalog but was not an exclusive to my knowledge. Like the Hand Puppet this toy was a one year only release.

Yoda Hand Puppet
- The Empire Strikes Back
- 8 Inch Poseable Hand Puppet
- Yoda can stand unassisted
- You can make Yoda come to life by moving him in various positions
Force fact:
Like the Radio Controlled R2-D2 both of our Yoda entries do not really fall into the Large Size Action Figures but they are here nonetheless.
Here we have the Yoda Hand Puppet which is not quite in scale with the other figures but definitely does not fit the 3 3/4 inch line. Another really cool toy that works very simply and very well. You can position the Puppet to act and look like Yoda from the film. Kenner really was good at making toys of all kinds.

IG-88
- The Empire Strikes Back
- 15 Inch Poseable Action Figure
- Authentically detailed with rifle and pistol
- Has Cartridge belt, articulated head, wrists, arms and hips
Force fact:
IG-88 was the tallest figure and the only one made new for the ESB line.

Ben Kenobi
- Star Wars
- 12 Inch Poseable Action Figure
- Has white gown, black turtleneck and hooded cloak
- Has Yellow Light Saber
Force fact:
Ben was the last of the Star Wars Large Size Action Figures released. Another good figure to round out the 11 Star Wars figures released.

Jawa
- Star Wars
- 8 Inch Poseable Action Figure
- Has removable ammunition belt and hooded cloak
- Has Laser Rifle
Force fact:
Jawa is not the shortest figure as some have suggested but R2-D2 holds that distinction. He does have the smallest package but still a really cool toy. Come to think of it the whole line was exceptionally well done and deserves much more love than they get.

Han Solo
- Star Wars
- 12 Inch Poseable Action Figure
- Authentically styled shirt, pants and vest
- Comes with Laser Pistol, gun belt, removable boots and Rebel Alliance Medal of Honor
Force fact:
An excellent and obviously needed addition to the line. Han is another excellent toy, with a good Harrison Ford look in the face. This doll mold was re-used by Kenner to make the Indiana Jones doll several years later with the only change was they gave him darker hair.

Boba Fett
- Star Wars
- The Empire Strikes Back
- 13 Inch Poseable Action Figure
- Has see-thru viewport lens and clicking pretend range finder in helmet
- Comes with Laser Pistol, utility belt, Wookiee scalps, removable cape and lensatic life support indicator in chest plate
- Articlate head, shoulders, elbows, wrists, knees and hips
Force fact:
The Boba Fett, without any doubt, the finest of the Large Size Action Figures. He is the most articulate, most elaborate and well equipped of the line (even if I have no idea of what the lensatic life support indicator in chest plate even is supposed to be). Fett was the most expensive figure as well and was a major release for the line for Christmas. It was the only one of the Large Size that all three major Department stores included in their Christmas catalogs. Oddly enough it was the only figure also released, in any quantity, in an ESB (The Empire Strikes Back) packaging along with the IG-88. Very tough to find in the ESB box.

Stormtrooper
- Star Wars
- 12 Inch Poseable Action Figure
- Has movable arms, legs and wrists
- Laser rifle can be held or hung on belt
Force fact:
The Stormtrooper was a very cool figure, in scale to the Darth Vader. Every collection should have Darth Vader flanked by a Stormtrooper behind each of his shoulders!

Radio Controlled R2-D2
- Star Wars
- Wireless Control to move R2-D2 forward, backward, right and left
- Chormed head turns and red eye lights up
- Electronic Beep sounds
Force fact:
Some of you may question both the placement chronologically as well as Radio Controlled R2-D2’s insertion into the Large Size Action Figures. To the first point this toy was released very early on in 1978 and was not a later 1979 release as some have speculated. As for including it with the Large Size Figures that is simply my preference as it does not fit with Vehicles and Playsets nor with the Role Playing type of toys. Its size and appearance put it and a couple of other pieces into the category in my eyes.
That said this was one very expensive item. $25 for a toy in 1978 was insane. It was available for a few years but I do not if stores reordered the toy or if the stock just sat around. I have always been surprised that this toy has not been more popular among collectors as few had it as a kid and it is a good toy and not easy to find in good condition or factory sealed.

Princess Leia
- Star Wars
- 11 1/2 Inch Poseable Action Figure
- Dressed in Alderaanian Cape with Royal Belt
- Has comb and brush for styling Star Puffs and other hairdos
Force fact:
Princess Leia, while a well made figure, comes with the lamest of accessories. Clearly gunning for the girl market she comes equipped with a comb and brush, no weapon at all. Lame. Luke and Leia seem to be the most common to find figures from this line.
